Macro settings
Drew lets you add your functionality by using VBA macros. We store your macro preferences in your Blueprints, so you can bundle your settings for every customer with their own template.
To add your macros, open the Settings window, select one of your blueprints and go to the Macros tab. Click the plus-button at the top to add a new macro by its path.
Detailed setting for every macro
Every macro has the following options:
- A user-friendly name
- Which part of the macro we should run. This consists of two settings, the name of the module and the name of the subroutine (or sub).
- To help you, we show you the available modules and subs below the input fields.
- A checkbox that enables a popup before running the macro.
- Some macros should be run only once or can take a long time so you don’t want to run these by accident.
- A checkbox for relevant model types.
- We only show a button for this macro if this model type is open.
How to run a macro on the active model
When you have a part, assembly or drawing open in SOLIDWORKS, we show the relevant macros in the Drew task pane on the right side of the screen.
Click the macro button to run the macro, it’s that simple. If you have the confirmation option enabled, we will show you a popup before running the macro.
